Tip 1 Be yourself.

A man who is set apart for God and his purposes and who wants to serve the Lord with all his heart, mind and soul is not looking for a person who cannot be themselves around him. Let’s take Jesus as an example of that man that you seek.

What good would it be to put on a good face for Jesus? He was dining at a very important Pharisee’s house one day and a woman that had a sordid past came in and wept at his feet. She wiped them dry with her hair, which was down to her waist when completely unfurled and was one of her best qualities. But when she first approached Jesus, she wept at his feet in true unadulterated repentance to a holy man.

She did not try and approach him with her beauty or win him with her femininity or the charm she was used to using on weaker men. She came hopeless, in tears and with all of her hair in disarray.

So why do you try and charm your future mate? Your future mate will one day see your character flaws and yet if you have been honest with him from the start he would choose to honour you anyway.

Tip 2 Speak openly about your dreams for your life.

It is sometimes the last thing a person will open up and share with someone but your dreams are important to God and your dreams are important to a true man of God. It is in what we really want to achieve in life that destiny is found. A man of God that in the future wants to preach full time might be very interested that you want to be a soloist or worship leader. When God is planning to bring a wife to a man that is zealous for Him and His ways God wants the man to be complemented by the woman and for their dreams to be shared and worked together in the marriage.

Tip 3 Walk in the Spirit.

A man of God would much rather court a woman of God that prays every day and who is close to the LORD enough so that she gets her directions each day from the Holy Spirit. A good prayer life and regular Bible reading gets the Holy Spirit’s presence into our lives and practice in the ways of being led in our hearts through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, rather than being led all day from a mind full of worries and best guesses at solutions.

A praying wife is such a noble thing and a man set apart for God wants a woman that is set apart for God also. No man that is serious about his love for God will ever be jealous of a wife that is his spiritual equal or holier than him. It is often said that the best leaders of the world always have a great wife supporting them.

A man who has set his sights on reaping a great harvest on earth and bearing much fruit, most often wants his wife involved and not taking directions from him but taking them directly from the Holy Spirit as the Spirit supports him though the wife.

Tip 4 Cultivate a healthy respect for your man.

Men in the Bible are commanded to love their wives, yet women are commanded to respect their husbands. Men have a need for praise and a sense of knowing that the people in their life respect them.

Every man of God in the early years of life will have flaws and character traits that are not right in your eyes, but in your courting you need to let him know that you respect him for who he is.

Some men are really driven. When God has a calling on a young man’s life a man can get really caught up in it and neglect some things in his life that need attention. What seems clearly evident to you might not seem that important to a man who has other things consuming him and so you need to go to prayer and respect the man for who he is right now and help him become the man you know he can be.

The Holy Spirit has a healthy interest in helping you train your man, but until he knows you really love him for who he is right now through your respect for him he won’t be interested in trying to change some things in his life for you.

Tip 5 Devote yourself fully to Jesus and the Father.

A man who only wants to serve the Lord God with all his heart, mind and soul might not be interested in the things of the world like most people are. A man on fire with God will be interested in investing his money and time serving God rather than having the latest gadgets, the very best furniture and a better than average house.

To some of you I might be speaking about a foreign sounding man, for you have never met a man like that. I am one of these men, once married and divorced when I was young and now with no interest in taking a second wife.

These five tips are simply the tips I have put some thought into with my wisdom as a young forty year old.

Jesus said that you should store your treasure in heaven and not on earth. For he said where your treasure is, that is where your heart will be also.

It makes sense then to give your life fully to Jesus and turn away from the lusts of this world and live a life that will give you treasure in heaven so that your heart is always on heavenly things.

As a male that has his sex drive under control and does not need to sin in masturbation, I find that women are not often on my mind. A man who is set apart for God and who has drawn so close to God like myself that God has given him freedom from sexual sin will be looking for more in a partner than a lover.

Paul says that it is best that a person not marry so that they would only want to serve the LORD with all their being. He says once you marry your focus for serving God moves from serving God so much and more toward making your partner happy.

For a couple to agree to give much money to the LORD and much time to the LORD and their undivided love to Him so they can serve him in an awesome way, they would first have to agree to a lower standard house, a cheaper car and not the most expensive clothes and things.

Missionaries live like this and they serve the LORD with little money and heaps of faith in foreign countries. But you don’t have to go overseas to remove one’s love for the wares of this world and replace it with money sown into things that profit Christians and lead them closer to the Lord and into ways to reach the lost.

This article costs me nothing to write. But to publish it in a book I would need a professional proofreader to take out every mistake in spelling and grammar. This would cost me a lot of money to make a whole book of articles. Saving this money, through going without, is a cost that I would be willing to bear. For I know what good my articles do in people’s lives.

The kingdom of God is ripe for the harvest. The East is in huge growth and revival and the more money they get the faster they grow. It would cost as little as a hundred dollars a month and you could fully pay a minister to plant a church in India. It costs as little as seven dollars and a pastor in China can have his own Bible in his hands and you can be rewarded in heaven for all the souls he saves with it.

The LORD of Hosts wants women that would willingly be poor in the world’s eyes so that others may benefit from the money they earn. A woman takes pride in her house and her furniture and her clothes yet in the poor villages of India the women are still smiling with cheap houses, basic furniture and the most colorful saris I have ever seen. I look at the poor Indians and see their bright smiles as I walk down their road and I wonder if the rich West really is happy.

Only a very close relationship with the Lord God will let you fall out of love with all the lusts of the modern world and bring you true joy and peace. And only this sort of woman is going to catch the heart of a man that is set apart for God.
